Why You Can't Buy Dasani Water in Britain

  • Publicado em 8 Mar 2020
  • Coca-Cola's brand of bottled water, Dasani, was a flop in the UK after the public realised it was just filtered tap water. But the story's a bit more complicated than it might seem. | Drinking Dasani with Ashens: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6Vhc...

I filter my tap water twice before I drink it, Once through an In line filter that I connected up to the tap directly and then through a britas Filter and it tastes really good, that was because when I moved a little town outside Lincoln in the UK, the water tasted disgusting, like it was kept in an old pipe for a century, before I turned the tap on.

@Person Oisels everybody with half a brain knows where and what bottled water is. Fact is I buy bottled water because our tap water frequently becomes so chlorinated it makes me physically ill. So should I keep drinking the tap water than if it's a sin to buy bottled water?

@Person Oisels You mean where it says "Pure, *Still* Water"? I find the argument that anyone would interpret that to mean to spring water or underground mineral water to be dubious at best.
notahotshot did not lie, at least not in the way you are implying. The bottle does not say *"Pure Water"* _anywhere_ -- it says "Pure, *Still* Water", both on the front and the back, which is notably different and hard to construe as misleading.

They still promote bottled water in Finland with images of pure, clean nature. Finnish scientists sampled the bottled water and found 1000-10 000 times the amount of bacteria in the bottled water than in our tap water.
I still have no idea why anyone would buy insanely expensive and stagnant water in Europe.

Must have worked out how long it'd take to present and how far he'd have to walk for it to line up like that, it's a great idea and very well executed!

I love that 1) there are a bunch of random pieces of paper on the ground just before all the newspaper clippings start covering the screen and 2) there's a crushed Coke can on the ground just after all those (bad publicity) clippings disappear. Considering how well this video is timed, I wouldn't be surprised if those items were planned. Then again, it could be just happy randomness.

Bottle water (wether is processed tap water or mineral water) is quite working well in Hong Kong because we folks might used up all the water in our bottle while wandering around or hiking and do need some ice cold refreshments when near a store.

I won’t even buy Dasani in the US.. but Coke has a monopoly on most theme parks and stadiums! If I have to get anything at our local theme park I’ll go into a restaurant and ask for tea. They don’t have many options other than soda. I tried drinking soda but at the end of the day you end up feeling dehydrated and sick. Dasani is designed to make you buy more and never satisfy your thirst.

In the US, when I order bottled water, and the server brings me any brand that is city water, I ask them why they didn't just bring me tap water. Then when I ask for certain brands, they say they don't have them. At ball games, they always push the bottled city water and try to say other water cost too much. Really? Spring or well water, isn't hardly any more expensive when you calculate the quantity versus cost, but the benefits greatly out weighs the city water. They are just selling you a lie.

From US. We know it's tap water with added minerals in the manufacturing plant. That's how much we trust our tap water. A contaminated batch most likely tastes like the water we've been drinking our entire lives. I have to say they nailed the taste if you're from the Ohio Valley.
Take into consideration our health care is for profit. Healthy people aren't profitable.

I live near Buxton and the tap water is amazing, it's like you are getting the best quality mineral water straight through the tap. Travelled to many places and nothing compares to it. Even London's water is horrible to me compared to Buxton.

Some of the regional bottled water in America comes straight from underground Springs in the mountains. The counterpart spring water in the mountains of the Italian Alps is the best water. But yes I would not buy Coca-Cola water because they are depleting the drinking water of local residents across America

Im lucky I live in the adirondack foothills. Springs literally everywhere with naturally high PH and so full of minerals, your nails and teeth get harder within days if you go without it for a bit then drink it. It leaves a white powder when evaporated and makes everything in the gardens grow perfect. Even the well water is spring water most of NY

Just to clarify 1917, is not a single take. But it is made to look like that. It's a continuous scene to the audience, it was 1000's of scenes to the makers who used special effects or clever cuts to make it seem continuous.

Not only did they keep Tom in centre frame while moving backwards for the full 9 minutes (and particularly while crossing the driveway), they made space for the graphics to appear when Tom mentioned them.

I filled up some Perreira water bottles with my tap water and give them to my neighbours saying id been given a crate of the stuff off some guy I did some work for. they drank it and all complained about upset stomachs and worse ! knowing my tap water was not as it should be I made up some excuses and we read the Perrier water bottle labels and to our amazement on the label was a warning that due to the high level of minerals and "other" elements some people may experience intestinal disturbances. . .I don't know if Perrier water still has that warning on the label but round about the time of the Christmas episode of fools and horses it did,
PS great video, can you do one about the fools and horses' episode when Dell boy finds a nuclear fallout shelter THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING, one of the best episodes ever, having interactive television before anyone even had a mobile phone was amazing, I could do something one day and hey presto the BBC had it in a show as quick as you like, from long before you were even born I the ability to direct things at broadcasting house, imagine being 7 years old and being the controller of the BBC, too much power in my hands at such a young age. . . the last show should be good. . . keep watching it isn't over quite yet !
